Motion 110 – Debate

Upcoming Debate on Motion 110 Report, and Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support in Federal Government Programming

On June 11, 2019 while concurrence of the report on Motion 110 was being debated in the House of Commons, before unceremoniously shutting down debate, Liberal Member of Parliament for Winnipeg North, Kevin Lamoureux, challenged me to a debate in both my riding and his on what the Liberal Government has done for grieving parents.

There’s both good news and bad news. The good news is that the Winnipeg time, date and location has now been confirmed (see below). Unfortunately, MP Lamoureux has backed out of the second debate he agreed to in Calgary, saying that a date after the election would be better. I am quite disappointed in this, as the Motion 110 report was tabled more than five months ago, and the Liberal Government has not taken any concrete action on the report recommendations. Canadians deserve to know where their MPs stand on taking immediate action.

The time for action for grieving parents is now. This cannot wait.

Please email blake.richards@parl.gc.ca to stay up to date on the Motion 110 debate this summer, including where to watch online.
